SDF CMC SHIMIZU Ken

I am MCPO SHIMIZU Ken, assumed as the 9th Fleet Master Chief, the Self-Defense Fleet on December 18, 2023.
The Self Defense Fleet is the cornerstone of the JMSDF’s operations, and performs a variety of missions such as surveillance and reconnaissance in waters surrounding Japan and anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden, Somalia, far from Japan, day and night, 365 days a year at home and abroad.
It is no exaggeration to say that the support of our families and the words of encouragement and expectation from the people of Japan are the source of our vitality as we pursue our duties.
In order to live up to their trusts and expectations, I will continue to lead the sailors of each unit, assisted the Commander in Chief of the Self Defense Fleet, with the Master Chief Petty Officers of each of the approximately 190 units of the JMSDF and strive to fulfill my duties.
