JS SUZUTSUKI conducted a bilateral exercise with French Navy Charles de Gaulle Carrier Strike Group

From 9 to 14 January, JS SUZUTSUKI conducted a bilateral exercise with French Navy Charles de Gaulle Carrier Strike Group in the vicinity of Western Arabian Sea.
The Commanding Officer of Escort Division 8, CAPT IIGATANI Takahiro, who served as the Japanese Commander for this exercise, said, “I was proud of having a bilateral exercise with the French Navy. Through this exercise, we improved the tactical capabilities of the units and strengthened our cooperation with the French Navy. In addition, it was meaningful that we had contributed to deterring piracy by demonstrating the presence of the Japanese and French navies to maintain the peace of Indian sea based on the international law.”
The Self-Defense Fleet remains responsive, continues to integrate with allied navies and friendly navies, defends maritime order, safeguards the peace and defense of Japan, and contributes to the stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
