Fleet Intelligence Command conducted a Japan-U.S. Bilateral IW-COMMUNITY

On October 21st, Fleet Intelligence Command invited USN and JMSDF Information Warfare (IW) commands to conduct the regularly scheduled IW Community Conference at the Maritime Operations Center in Funakoshi. JMSDF and USN exchanged opinions on Information Warfare and bilateral exercise coordination.
CAPT OHKUBO Katsushi, Commander, Fleet Intelligence Command said, “With our eyes on KEEN SWORD this year, we were able to hold discussion on how we can progress further on US-JPN IW efforts. Going forward, we would like to increase opportunities for bilateral IW exercises and improve our IW tactics and interoperability with USN.”
CAPT Pittman Erik, C7F N6 said, “We were able to have good discussion regarding Information Warfare coordination between USN and JMSDF. These interactions will greatly improve our tactics in the Information Warfare domain. The challenges posed in the IW domain are becoming more difficult each day, however, we would like continue these discussions with JMSDF to continue working solutions to these important problem sets.”
