Through IPD22, we were able to embody Japan's strong will not to allow unilateral attempts to change the status quo by force and demonstrate Japan's strong determination to ensure the safety of maritime traffic in the region, thereby contributing to the prosperity of the international community.”
The Self-Defense Fleet has been working together with the U.S. Navy from day to day to maintain and strengthen its ability to bilaterally respond to various contingencies and work closely with our ally to realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.” The Self-Defense Fleet also upholds a law-based maritime order, addresses global challenges, and contributes to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
