Defence Minister of India visited JS KUMANO

On September 9, H.E. Rajinath Singh, Defence Minister of India visited VADM YUASA Hideki, Commander in Chief, Self-Defense Fleet at JS KUMANO.
JS KUMANO is the second ship of the MOGAMI class frigate (FFM) commissioned in March 2022. In addition to engaging in regular surveillance operations during peacetime and various types of combat missions during times of crisis, this new type of combatant has improved its ability to respond to diverse missions, including minesweeping that only minesweepers were able to carry out in the past. Also, this new ship-class requires less manning to make most use of human resources.
The Self-Defense Fleet will continue to deepen our cooperation between Japan and India in the maritime field.
