JS KIRISAME conducted a trilateral exercise with the French Armed Forces New Caledonia and Royal Australian Navy

From 30 August to 1 September, the Indo-Pacific Deployment 2022 (IPD22) unit, JS KIRISAME conducted a trilateral exercise with FS VANDEMIARE and HMAS WARRAMUNGA in the vicinity of New Caledonia.
Through this exercise, JS KIRISAME improved its tactical capabilities and strengthened cooperation with the French Armed Forces in French New Caledonia and Royal Australian Navy, and showed solidarity toward the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” with France and Australia, which share fundamental values and strategic interests.
JS KIRISAME will make port visit to Port Moresby, the Independent State of Papua New Guinea from 4 to 6 September.
The Self-Defense Fleet remains responsive, continue to integrate with partner navies, safeguards the peace and defense of Japan, and contributes to the stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
