JS KIRISAME conducted a Japan-French Bilateral Exercise “OGURI-VERNY22-5”

From August 25 to 26, the Indo-Pacific Deployment 2022 (IPD22) unit, JS KIRISAME conducted a Japan-French bilateral exercise “OGURI-VERNY22-5” with FS D'ENTRECASTEAUX and FALCON200 in vicinity of New Caledonia to improve its tactical capabilities and strengthen cooperation with the French Armed Forces in French New Caledonia (FANC).
JS KIRISAME will call at port Noumea, French New Caledonia from 27 to 30 August, conduct various goodwill exchange events to deepen friendly relations between Japan and France.
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains readiness, contributing to the defense of Japan and the maintenance to maritime order based on law, as well as realization of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific" in cooperation with friendly navy.
