JS YAMAGIRI and JS ONAMI conducted Japan-U.S. bilateral exercise with the USS RONALD REAGAN, USS TORIPOLI, USS NEW ORLEANS and USS RUSHMORE

From August 13 to 24, JS YAMAGIRI and JS ONAMI conducted a Japan – U.S. bilateral exercise with the USS RONALD REAGAN, USS TRIPOLI, USS NEW ORLEANS and USS RUSHMORE in east of Okinawa to improve our tactical capabilities and strengthen cooperation with allied.
The JMSDF and the U.S. Navy work closely together to maintain and improve our bilateral response capabilities to various contingencies.
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains readiness to respond and contributes to the defense of Japan based on the deterrence and response capabilities of the strong Japan-U.S. alliance, and contributes to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”.
