JMSDF conducted Japan-U.S. bilateral exercise with EA-18G

On July 25, JS HYUGA, JS INAZUMA, JS MAKINAMI, JS YUGIRI, JS KIRISHIMA, P-1, EP-3, OP-3C and UP-3D conducted a Japan-U.S. bilateral exercise with the U.S. Navy EA-18G.
Commander of Fleet Air Wing 31, Rear Admiral HIRAKI Takuhiro said, “Japanese and U.S. operational aircraft conducted bilateral electromagnetic jamming to surface assets, as they dealt with various threats from electromagnetic jamming. Through this exercise, we were able to improve our tactical skills and interoperability with the U.S. Navy.”
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the defense of Japan and the stability of peace in the surrounding sea areas by improving bilateral operational capabilities against various contingencies through high-end bilateral exercise based on the strong Japan-U.S. alliance.
