JS KIRISAME participated in the U.S.-led exercise PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP 2022

From 15 to 19 July, JS KIRISAME participated in the U.S.-led exercise PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP 2022 with USNS MERCY, USCG MERTILE HSZARD, HMS TAMER and PSS KEDAM in the Sea of vicinity of Palau.
The Commanding Officer of JS KIRISAME, CDR SAKATA Atsushi said, “Through multilateral search and rescue training during this exercise, we were able to improve our tactical skills and strengthen cooperation with the US Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, Royal Navy, and the DMSFWP. The key to peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region is “free and open seas”, and I hope that our ship's activities will contribute to that end.”
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains readiness, contributing to the defense of Japan and the maintenance to maritime order based on law, as well as stability in the Indo-Pacific region with allied and friendly navies and maritime law enforcement agencies.
