Air Development Squadron 51 conducted a Japan-U.S. bilateral exerciase with USN MH-60R

On May 31, SH-60K patrol helicopter of the Air Development Squadron 51, along with U.S. Navy MH-60R patrol helicopter, conducted Japan-U.S. Bilateral anti-submarine warfare special exercise in the southern Kanto sea-air area to improve their tactical skills in ASW and interoperability with the U.S. Navy.
The JMSDF and the U.S. Navy work closely together to maintain and improve our bilateral response capabilities to various contingencies.
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains its readiness, and contributes to the defense of Japan based on deterrence and the response capabilities of the strong Japan-U.S. alliance, and contributes to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region in cooperation with many nations that share our fundamental values toward the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.”
