JS KONGO conducted bilateral exercise with USS MOBILE BAY and USS SPRUANCE

On April 13-14, the JS KONGO (DDG173) conducted a Japan-U.S. bilateral exercise in the Sea of Japan.
Commander, JS KONGO, who led the Japanese unit, said, “We conducted a very practical exercise with the USS MOBILE BAY (CG 53) and USS SPRUANCE (DDG-111). Through this exercise, we were able to enhance our tactical skills, including ballistic missile information sharing, and improve interoperability with the U.S. Navy and strengthened our deterrent response capability based on the Japan-U.S. alliance.”
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains a high level of readiness and contributes to the defense of Japan and the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region by improving Japan-U.S. joint response capabilities to various contingencies through regular high-end Japan-U.S. bilateral exercises.
