JS YUUDACHI conducted Japan-U.S.-Australia multilateral exercise

From 14 to 16 March, JS YUUDACHI conducted a multilateral exercise with USS MOMSEN, an U.S. Navy P-8, HMAS ARUNTA and a Royal Australian Air Force AP-3C in the South China Sea, to enhance tactical skills and interoperability between the JMSDF, the U.S. Navy, Royal Australian Navy and Royal Australian Air Force.
The Commanding Officer of JS YUUDACHI, CDR WAKUSHIMA Hidetaka said, “Through increased practical training, we enhanced our tactical skills and cooperation between the JMSDF, the U.S. Navy, the Australian Navy and the Australian Air force. And we promote cooperative relationship of Japan-U.S.-Australia naval and air force in order to realize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.”
Through multilateral exercise, the Self-Defense Fleet, together with the navies and air force of participating countries, defends maritime order based on the rule of law and addresses global challenges.
The Self-Defense Fleet remains responsive, continue to integrate with allied and friendly navies, safeguards the peace and security of Japan, and contributes to the stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
