JS MYOKO conducted a Japan-U.S. bilateral exercise with the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group

From February 19 to 22, JS MYOKO conducted a Japan-U.S. bilateral exercise with the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group around Okinawa.
Commander, MYOKO, who led the Japanese unit, said, “We conducted a very practical exercise with the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group. Through this exercise, we were able to enhance our tactical skills and interoperability with the U.S. Navy and strengthened our deterrent response capability based on the Japan-U.S. alliance”.
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains a high level of readiness, contributing to the defense of Japan and the stability of peace in the surrounding seas. Despite COVID-19, the Self-Defense Fleet continue to enhance operational capabilities against various contingencies through high-end bilateral exercises with its American partners.
