The JS YUGIRI and the German Navy FGS BAYERN conducted the Japan-German bilateral exercise

On December 13, the JS YUGIRI and the German Navy FGS BAYERN conducted the Japan-German bilateral exercise in the waters south of Okinawa.
The commanding officer of the JS YUGIRI (CDR KUMASHIRO Takeshi) said, “Through this bilateral exercise, we have improved our tactical skills and strengthened our cooperation with the German Navy. The German Navy is an important partner that shares the goal of peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region, and the FGS BAYERN participated in the 2021 Maritime Self-Defense Force exercises.”
The Self-Defense Fleet, not only maintain readiness for the defense of Japan, but also contribute to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region by deepening cooperation with the German Navy toward the realization of a “free and open Indo-Pacific.”
