The JMSDF Exercises (Japan-U.S. Bilateral Exercises and Japan-U.S.-Australia-Canada-Germany multinational Exercises) for 2021

21, November, the Self-Defense Fleet, the JMSDF, launched the FY2021 Maritime Self-Defense Force Exercise (Japan-U.S. Bilateral Exercise and Japan-U.S.-Australia-Canada-Germany multinational Exercise) in the sea and airspace around Japan.
In addition to Maritime Self-Defense Force ships and aircraft, ships and aircraft from the U.S. Navy, Royal Australian Navy, Royal Canadian Navy, and German Navy are participating in this exercise.
The Self-Defense Fleet not only maintains the strength and readiness of its forces and takes responsibility for the defense of Japan based on the strong Japan-U.S. alliance, but also contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region by constantly working together with allied and friendly navies toward the realization of a “free and open Indo-Pacific.”
