IPD21 force conducted bilateral exercise with the USS MILIUS

November 14 to 17, IPD21 unit JS KAGA and JS MURASAME conducted bilateral exercise with USS MILIUS in the South China Sea, to enhance tactical skills and interoperability between the JMSDF and the U.S. Navy.
The IPD21 unit has been in constant action with the U.S. Navy Aegis destroyer MILIUS, which has advanced operational capabilities, in the South China Sea since late October. These closely coordinated activities of the U.S. and Japanese naval species are backed by the strong Japan-U.S. alliance and are part of the joint Japan-U.S. efforts to realize a “free and open Indo-Pacific.”
The Self-Defense Fleet remains responsive and strength of units, integrates with the U.S. Navy, and contributes to support stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
