IPD21 force conducted the multi-lateral training “MALABAR2021”

October 11-14, IPD21 unit JS KAGA and JS MURASAME conducted the multi-lateral training “MALABAR2021” in the Bay of Bengal with USS Carl Vinson, USS Lake Champlain, USS Stockdale, USNS Yukon, INS Ranvijay, INS Satpura, Indian Navy's submarine, HMAS Ballarat, HMAS Sirius and anti-submarine aircrafts from the U.S. and the Indian Navy.
The Commanding Officer of IPD21 force, the Commander of Escort Flotilla 3, RADM IKEUCHI Izuru, stated, “Japan - U.S. - India- Australia conducted MALABAR2021 Phase 2 in the Bay of Bengal, following Phase 1 in the Western Pacific in August. In this exercise, advanced tactical training such as anti-submarine warfare training was conducted to enhance our tactical skills and cooperation with the navies of participating countries.”
Despite COVID-19, The Self-Defense Fleet remains responsive and strength, integrates with allied and partner navies in order to realize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific and contributes to support stability in the Indo-Pacific region and, by extension, the international community.
