IPD21 force conducted joint training with the U.K., the U.S., Netherlands, Canada and New Zealand Navy

October 4-9, IPD21 unit JS SHIRANUI conducted joint training with HMS Queen Elizabeth Carrier Strike Group in the South China Sea.
In addition to HMS Queen Elizabeth, HMS Defender, HMS Kent, RFA Fort Victoria, RFA Tidespring, USS The Sullivans, HNLMS Evertsen, HMCS Winnipeg and HMNZS Te Kaha participated in this training, enhanced tactical skills and cooperation with participating navies.
Through these multilateral joint exercises, the Self-Defense Fleet, together with the navies of participating countries, defends maritime order based on the rule of law and addresses global challenges.
Despite COVID-19, we remain responsive and integrates with friendly and allied countries in order to realize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific, safeguards the peace and security of Japan and contributes to support stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
