A courtesy call from the new Deputy Commander of the U.S. 7th Fleet

On September 13, VADM YUASA Hideki, Commander of the Self-Defense Fleet, received a courtesy call from RADM Erik Eslich, the new Deputy Commander of the U.S. 7th Fleet, at the Maritime Operations Center.
At the meeting, we agreed to continue and further strengthen efforts to increase interoperability between naval forces so that Japan and the U.S. can respond to various challenges in the Indo-Pacific region with deterrence and response based on our alliance.
The Self-Defense Fleet will continue to work closely with the 7th Fleet, from the commander to the staff and unit level, and act together to maintain ready to immediately respond against any contingencies, safeguards the peace and security of Japan and contributes to support stability of the Indo-Pacific region.
