JS ISE and JS IZUMO conducted the multi-lateral exercise “Pacific Crown 21-4”with the Queen Elizabeth Carrier Strike Group

From September 8-9, JS ISE, JS IZUMO and F-35A fighter from JASDF conducted the multi-lateral exercise “Pacific Crown 21-4” in the waters south of Kanto with HMS Queen Elizabeth and her Carrier Strike Group.
The Commanding Officer, Commander of Escort Flotilla 2, RADM KONNO Yasuki, stated, “Through this training, we enhanced our tactical skills and cooperation with participated navies. In addition to JS ISE, JS IZUMO that will be capable of carrying F-35B fighter in the future, was able to operate together with the Royal Navy's latest aircraft carrier in this exercise symbolizes that the defense cooperation between Japan and UK has entered a new phase.”
Despite COVID-19, The Self-Defense Fleet remains responsive and integrates with allied and friendly navies in order to realize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific, addresses global issues, and contributes to support stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
