September 1, IPD21 force conducted a goodwill exercise with PSS Kedam and PSS Remeliik II in the waters around Palau, to deepen mutual understanding and friendship between JMSDF and Division of Marine Law Enforcement (DMLE) of Palau.
The Republic of Palau is an island nation in the Western Pacific and one of the most pro-Japanese countries in the world, where Japanese culture has strongly remained. To support the Republic of Palau by strengthening its coast guard capabilities, PSS Kedam was provided from Japan, and now becomes bridge of friendship.
Despite COVID-19, the Self-Defense Fleet is fully using its flexibility and mobility in order to realize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific, promotes cooperative relationship with friendly countries, and contributes to support stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
