JS OUMI conducted bilateral exercise with U.S. Coast Guard

August 26, JS OUMI conducted bilateral exercise with USCGC Munro in the East China Sea.
The Commanding Officer of JS OUMI, CAPT YOSHIFUKU Toshihiko, stated, “This is the first time that a JMSDF supply ship has replenished a U.S. Coast Guard patrol vessel and also the Japan-U.S. ACSA has been applied to the U.S. Coast Guard, so I believe that we have further improved interoperability between JMSDF and USCG.”
Despite COVID-19, The Self-Defense Fleet remains responsive and enhances deterrence and response capabilities based on the Japan-U.S. alliance, safeguards the peace and security of Japan, and contributes to support stability in the region.
