Indo-Pacific Deployment 2021 (IPD21) force departed from Japan

August 23, the 3rd Escort Flotilla 3 as the Indo-Pacific Deployment Force, composed of JS KAGA, JS MURASAME and JS SIRANUI, departed from each home bases.
The squadron will conduct multi-lateral exercise with navies of countries in the Indo-Pacific region and major European countries that have dispatched naval vessels to the region, in order to enhance cooperation, mutual understanding and trust between JMSDF and navies of each country, and is scheduled to return to Japan on late of November.
Despite COVID-19, The Self-Defense Fleet remains responsive and integrates with partner countries in order to realize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific, contributes to support stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
