A courtesy call from the new Commander of the U.S. Naval Forces Japan

On July 26, VADM YUASA Hideki, Commander of the Self-Defense Fleet, received a courtesy call from RADM Carl Lahti, the new Commander of the U.S. Naval Forces Japan, at the Maritime Operations Center.
Commander of the Submarine Fleet, VADM OZAMA Yoshitaka and Commander of the Escort Fleet, VADM SAITO Akira attended the meeting and agreed that the naval forces of Japan and U.S., together with their counterparts, will continue and further strengthen our efforts to improve interoperability.
The Self-Defense Fleet will continue to work closely with the U.S. Naval Forces Japan, remains ready to immediately respond against any contingencies, safeguards the peace and security of Japan and contributes to support stability of the Indo-Pacific region.
