JS MAKINAMI conducted bilateral exercise with USS Rafael Peralta

From Jun 25-30, JS MAKINAMI, enroute to participate in multi-lateral exercises, conducted bilateral exercise with USS Rafael Peralta in the waters northeast of Australia, to enhance tactical skills and increase Japan-US interoperability.
In addition to various tactical training exercises, the two ships conducted a memorial service at sea jointly, offered condolences for the war dead of both Japan and U.S. in the Pacific War.
The Self-Defense Fleet, through high-end bilateral exercise, improves deterrence and joint response to various contingencies, maintains a strong partnership between Japan and the U.S., safeguards the peace and security of Japan, and contributes to support stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
