Escort Flotilla 4 conducted bilateral exercise with JASDF

From Jun 18-24, Escort Flotilla 4 conducted bilateral naval and air exercise in the waters south of Shikoku with the JASDF, to enhance our tactical skills related to air defense and joint operations.
The Commanding Officer of Escort Flotilla 4, RADR HIRATA Toshiyuki who served as the maritime force commander for this training, stated, &ldqto;Six destroyers including JS KAGA and P-1 patrol aircraft from the JMSDF and E-767 AWACS, F-35A, F-15, F-2 fighters, etc. from the JASDF participated in this exercise, which was a real-world, mixed-unit, counterattack-style. The JMSDF will continue to work in close cooperation with the JASDF to strengthen its capability to respond to any contingency.”
Despite COVID-19, the Self-Defense Fleet remains responsive and forms a complete defense posture with other Self Defense Forces, contributing to support stability.
