JS AKIZUKI as the 5^th Deployment Surface Force for Information Gathering Activities departed SASEBO port

On April 18, JS AKIZUKI as the 5^th Deployment Surface Force for Information Gathering (DSIG) Activities, commanded by CAPT OSAMURA Hisamitsu, commanding officer of Escort Division 5, departed from SASEBO port for their mission in the Middle East.
JS AKIZUKI, taking all possible measures for COVID-19, will head to the North Arabian Sea, replace the 4^th DSIG, JS SUZUNAMI, and carry on the mission of ensuring the safety of Japanese shipping.
Despite COVID-19, the Self-Defense Fleet remains responsive and continues to deepen cooperative relationships through various deployment activities and multi-lateral training events, and contributes to stability in the region around the Indian ocean.
