The students from the Joint Advanced Course have a field trip to foreign countries as part of their educational program with the purpose of understanding international security environment and the current situation of joint operations and education.
   Their destinations are the headquarters of the military, bases, and National Defense Academies. Below are the countries, which they have visited since the first Joint Advanced Course in 2006, listed in the order of first time visit: Korea(10 times), China(7 times), Pakistane(once), Thailand(4 times), Vietnam(3 times), Indonesia(twice), Malaysia(twice), Singapore(twice), Australia(4 times), France(once), India(twice), The Philippines(once).

Field trip to Australia

One of the Delegation Groups from the 20th Joint Advanced Course, led by the head of the Education Division, Col Yamashita, and by the chief of the First Instructorsf office, CAPT Tanaka, visited Australia for an overseas field trip from the 5th to the 10th of June 2016. The aim of the trip is to gain the understanding of the situational understanding, defense policy, and status-quo of the armed forces of Australia. The main destinations were as follows:

Field trip to Malaysia and Singapore

One of the Delegation Groups from the 20th Joint Advanced Course, led by the commandant of the Joint Staff College, VADM Sakata, and by the chief of the Second Instructorsf office, COL Nishi, visited Malaysia and Singapore for an overseas field trip from the 6th to the 11th of June 2016. The aim of the trip is to gain the understanding of the situational understanding, defense policy, and status-quo of the armed forces of Australia. The main destinations were as follows:
