On July 29th (Fri), the Joint Staff College, under the command of Vice Admiral Ryuzo Sakata, held the commencement ceremony for the 20th Joint Advanced Course with the pleasure of their company, Chief of Staff and many distinguished guests from both inside and outside the Ministry of Defense. Chief of Staff, ADMR Kawano delivered an address on “the establishment of true readiness to fight” and “the succession of good traditions” The Commandant of JSC, VADM Sakata expressed his wish for his address that they will continue to improve themselves with their broadened horizons, scientific way of thinking and rich humanity in mind.
   The students were spirited up by the guests including Chiefs of Joint, Ground, Maritime and Air Staff, and passionately shared their memories from the course and goals toward the future during the reception that followed the ceremony. After that, sent off by their families, all the students, which are totally 45, 18 from Ground, 13 from Maritime and 14 from Air Self-Defense Force, and are headed by the student leader ASDF Colonel Minami, left the college building proudly.
