JMSDF conducted a joint training with USN

From March 1 to 5, JS ISE, JS HARUSAME, and JS SHIRANUI conducted joint training in the Western Pacific south of Japan with USS BENFOLD and USS JOHN S. McCAIN.
Commanding Officer of Escort Division 6 (CAPT INABA Yosuke), who served as the Japanese Commander in this training, stated that, "Together with the US Navy, we executed training across a wide range of warfare areas such as USW, AW, and SUW focusing intently on each area, improving the tactical skill of JMSDF units and strengthening cooperation with the US Navy. Also, each ship participating ship took all possible measures for COVID-19 prevention prior to departing port, and we are ready to respond to new missions."
Given the increasingly severe security environment surrounding Japan, the Self-Defense Fleet leverages these high-end training events to enhance the deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan-U.S. Alliance, contribute to Japan's peace and security and support stability in the region.
