On Wednesday April 10th, the officers of Command and General staff Course ( CGS ) attended a lecture on international affairs given by Dr. Patrick Mendis, an international political scientist who serves as a member of the National Security Education Board.
They listened attentively and gained a deeper understanding of the latest international situation, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region. -

On Wednesday April 10th, #TERCOM hosted a training group from U.S. Army War College ( AWC ).
We shared understanding on the #education for the Japan Ground Self Defense Force officers and others, and discussed promoting educational cooperation between Japan and the U.S. in the future. -

On Monday, March 25, the entrance ceremony for the 52nd Technical Administration Course ( TAC ) was held.
Through a diverse range of programs, they will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for senior level commanders and staff officers primary engaged in technical fields through the one-year education.
The incoming students stepped forward with expressions of expectation and nervousness, taking a new step. -

On Monday, March 11, TERCOM conducted the graduation ceremony for the 51th Technical Administration Course (TAC).
The students have acquired the knowledge and skills necessary for senior level commanders and staff officers primary engaged in technical fields through the one-year education, and they are expected to serve important roles of national defense. -

On Friday, March 1, 17 students, including both MSDF and ASDF officers, completed the Advanced General Staff course and the Joint Advanced Course.
They have acquired the knowledge and skills necessary for senior level commanders and staff officers through the one-year education.
They departed to assigned units and commands all over Japan, as they are expected to serve important roles of national defense. -

JGSDF and French Army will participate the CAPSTONE-4, which is an unit experiment.
Prior to participating in the experiment, TERCOM CG and Head of the doctrine directorate of French Army conducted video-teleconference to exchange opinions. -

On Wednesday, February 7th, TERCOM held the graduation ceremony for its 14 students of the 14th Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Course.
Over the course of approximately three months, these graduates deepened their bonds with their peers while learning the essential qualities, knowledge, and skills required as CSM. They have now departed from Meguro to various units of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. -

COL Kawasaki Machiko, Commander of Military Medicine Research Unit, Test & Evaluation Command, JGSDF participated in a panel group regarding blast injury hosted by the Science and Technology Organization (STO), NATO.
She introduced the result of research about provision against shock wave to domestic and overseas.
STO is the primary NATO organization for Defence Science and Technology. -

LTG Hiroe Jiro, TERCOM CG participated in the Business to Government Industrial Cooperation Seminar “Cyber in Space” organized by FrenchEmbassy in Japan, and delivered a presentation.
TERCOM is deepening its engagement with France. -

On Wednesday, November 22, 87 students, including MSDF, ASDF officers, and 5 international students (Indonesia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Korea, Thailand), completed the 68th Command and General Staff course.
They have acquired the knowledge and skills necessary for senior-level commanders and staff officers through one and half years of education.
They departed to assigned units and commands all over Japan, as they are expected to serve important roles of the Japan Self-Defense Force. -

■Participation in the Synergia Conclave 2023
LTG Hiroe Jiro, #TERCOM CG participated in the international conference (Synergia Conclave 2023) organized by the #Indian research institution (Synergia Foundation), attended by military personnel, government officials, researchers, etc., and delivered a keynote speech on “New Domains and Land Operations.”

■ Visit by French Army CDEC Director
Lieutenant General Hiroe Jiro, the Commanding General of the Training-Evaluation, Education, Research and Development Command, received a visit from French Army CDEC Director Lieutenant General Vidaud.
They discussed the Innovation Process, doctrine, equipment, and other research and development agenda, deepening the exchange between the land forces of Japan and France. -

On Thursday, November 2nd, TERCOM held the entrance ceremony of the 14th Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Course.
14 students will devote themselves to the education in the upcoming three months while leveraging their past experiences, and they have committed themselves to strive together, and renewing their resolution to improve their qualities, knowledge, and skills necessary to assume responsibility as CSMs for Divisions and Brigades. -

This time, a member of the TECOM conducted a lecture on “From the Perspective of a Nation’s Research and Development Institutions” in the “Fundamentals of Research and Development” for undergraduate students at the University of Tsukuba, highlighting the research and development conducted by JGSDF. -

STRI stands for Simulation, Training & Instrumentation, and is one of 12 PEOs of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology.) #PEOSTRI develops, provides, and sustains testing, training and information operations capabilities. -

■Web Meeting with Students of the Indonesian Army
On Wednesday, August 30, CGS students had a web meeting with students of the Indonesian Army Command and General Staff College, to discuss topics regarding disaster relief operations and International disaster relief activities.
Through the discussions, they shared information on the response to disasters in both countries, and deepened mutual understanding between JGSDF and Indonesian Army. -

■ Visit by Chief of the Staff the German Army
The first commemorative event featured a visit by Chief of the German Army.
On Tuesday, July 25, Lieutenant General Alfons Mais, Chief of the German Army, visited #TERCOM .
During the visit, LTG Mais also delivered a keynote speech to the staff and students of TERCOM to further promote the engagement between the land forces of Japan and Germany.
