The Deputy Commander, Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) visited MOC, Self Defense Fleet.
On October 22, RADM Jeff MURRAY, Deputy Commander, Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) visited the Maritime Operation Center and had an office call with VADM OMACHI Katsushi, Commander, Self Defense Fleet.
Canada is Japan’s G7 partner in the Pacific region and its comprehensive strategic partner who shares fundamental values. The JMSDF and the RCN have been training together on a variety of bilateral and multilateral exercises primarily in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance readiness and bolster the two nations’ cooperation. During the courtesy call, RADM Murray and VADM Omachi exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Japan and Canada for years to come.
The Self Defense Fleet works to maintain readiness to contribute to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
