Commander, Self Defense Fleet presented a letter of commendation to Vice Commander, U.S. SEVENTH Fleet.

On 28 September, VADM OMACHI Katsushi, Commander, Self Defense Fleet presented a letter of commendation to RDML Katie Sheldon, Vice Commander, U.S. SEVENTH Fleet.

Since autumn 2024, as Vice Commander, U.S. SEVENTH Fleet, she has proactively engaged in an exchange of ideas with the Self Defense Fleet Chief of Staff on a wide range of topics from strategic to tactical issues, promoting close cooperation and enhancing interoperability between the Self Defense Fleet and the U.S. SEVENTH Fleet, as well as between the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and the U.S. Navy.

The Self Defense Fleet will continue to work closely with the U.S. Navy, from the commander to the staff and unit levels, and act together to maintain readiness and immediately respond to any contingencies, contributing to the defense of Japan and peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region.
