Support for the C7F CPO Selective Volunteer Activities.

On August 8, Petty Officers from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), led by the JMSDF Fleet Command Master Chief, supported the U.S. Navy 7th Fleet CPO Selectees.

The CPO Selectee is an annual nationwide event to select candidates for Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy.

Through community service activities such as cleaning up the areas around U.S. Fleet Activities Yokosuka and Dobuita Street, JMSDF and U.S. Navy enlisted personnel aim to deepen bilateral relations and contribute to the local community.

Additionally, the JMSDF Fleet Master Chief delivered words of encouragement to the U.S. Navy selectees regarding the mindset required to become a CPO.

Through these activities, JMSDF Petty Officers are working to further commit to self-improvement and interaction with their counterparts of the U.S. Navy in order to serve as a vital part of the solid foundation of the Japan-U.S. Alliance.
