Participation in a Homecoming Ceremony for a Counter-Piracy Aviation Unit.

On August 23, the Commander, Self Defense Fleet participated in a homecoming ceremony for the 59th dispatched counter-piracy aviation unit at JMSDF Hachinohe Base.

The Commander took this significant opportunity to commend the personnel for successfully completing their approximately 6-month deployment and to express his gratitude to their families and friends for their understanding of and support to the mission.

The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
