Commander, Self Defense Fleet presented a letter of commendation to a staff officer of the U.S. 7th Fleet.

On 19 August, VADM OMACHI Katsushi, Commander, Self Defense Fleet presented a letter of commendation to CDR Andrew L. ORCHARD, U.S. 7th Fleet.

Since spring 2024, as a staff officer of the U.S. 7th Fleet, he made significant contributions to the enhancement of the U.S.-Japan alliance as well as interoperability between the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) and the U.S. Navy.

The Self Defense Fleet will continue to work closely with the U.S. Navy, from the commander to the staff and unit levels, and act together to maintain readiness and immediately respond to any contingencies, contributing to the defense of Japan and peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region.
