Participation in International Fleet Review “IFR 2026” hosted by the Indian Navy.
On 18 February, JS Yuudachi, being forward-deployed in the Middle East as part of the 53rd Deployment Surface Force for Counter Piracy Enforcement, participated in the International Fleet Review “IFR 2026” hosted by the Indian Navy off the coast of Visakhapatnam. It marked the second participation by the JMSDF since 2016.
International Fleet Reviews have traditionally been held for the purpose of promoting international goodwill and mutual understanding between participating naval forces. Through this event, the JMSDF increased mutual understanding and strengthened trusting relationship with the participating naval forces. The JMSDF will continue cooperation and promote friendship with allied and like-minded navies, contributing to maintaining a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.”
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
