Japan-India-Indonesia Trilateral Exercise.

On 13 February, JS Yuudachi, being forward-deployed in the Middle East as part of the 53rd Deployment Surface Force for Counter Piracy Enforcement, conducted Japan-India-Indonesia trilateral exercise with the Indian Navy corvette INS Kora and the Indonesian Navy frigate KRI Bung Tomo in the vicinity of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Indian Ocean. Through the exercise, the JMSDF enhanced its tactical capabilities and cooperation with the Indian Navy and the Indonesian Navy.

As neighbors in the Indo-Pacific region, Japan, India and Indonesia share the fundamental values and promote multifaceted and multi-layered defense cooperation and exchange. The Self-Defense Fleet will continue efforts to deepen ties between Japanese, Indian and Indonesian naval forces, which is the very foundation of the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, contributing to the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.”

The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
