The Self Defense Fleet and the U.S. 7th Fleet exchange Christmas / New Year Presents.

On 10 December, the Self Defense Fleet received a Christmas tree from the U.S. 7th Fleet. In return, we will present a Kadomatsu, New Year’s decoration made of pine branches and bamboos on 16 December. This present exchange during Christmas season is an annual event conducted between the Self Defense Fleet and the U.S. 7th Fleet to wish each other warm and nice New Year holidays.

Thus, the Self Defense Fleet and the U.S. 7th Fleet promote friendship with mutual respect and importance, not only by conducting regular activities together for the defense of Japan and peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, but also by sharing annual events of both the United States and Japan. The members of the Self Defense Fleet wish all Japanese citizens as well as all sailors of the U.S. 7th Fleet and their families, friends, and other loved ones a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
