JS Ariake conducted a Japan-Australia bilateral exercise (Nichi-Gou Trident 25-4).
On 1st and 2nd November, JS Ariake, a submarine and P-1 patrol aircraft conducted a Japan-Australia bilateral exercise (Nichi-Gou Trident 25-4) with HMAS Brisbane, Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and P-8A Poseidon, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) in South of Kyushu. Through the exercise, the JMSDF improved its tactical capabilities and strengthened cooperation with the RAN and the RAAF.
Australia is our ‘Special Strategic Partner’ in the Indo-Pacific region, sharing not only universal values but also strategic security interests with us. Today, the relationship between the JMSDF and the RAN is becoming much closer and more important than ever, and the JMSDF will further strengthen the relationship with the RAN to improve security environment in the Indo-Pacific region.
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
