JMSDF and U.S. Navy personnel cleaned up Mamonzan Naval Cemetery.
On 30 August, senior enlisted personnel from the Self Defense Fleet and its subordinating commands cleaned up Mamonzan Naval Cemetery as a volunteer activity together with U.S. Navy personnel. Total of 60 participants beyond generation and boundary payed tribute to their predecessors through this activity, which also enabled them to promote friendship and mutual understanding of each other, as well as to enhance cooperation with the local community.
The Self Defense Fleet will continue to work closely with the U.S. Navy, from the commander to the staff and unit levels, and act together to maintain readiness and immediately respond to any contingencies, contributing to the defense of Japan and peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region.
