Chief of the Naval Staff, Indian Navy visited Maritime Operation Center.

On 31 July, ADM Dinesh Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, Indian Navy visited VADM OMACHI Katsushi, Commander, Self Defense Fleet at the Maritime Operation Center. India is a crucial friendly nation to Japan, which is located at strategically and geographically important area and has a great influence in the Indo-Pacific region.

In the conversation, they shared situation awareness about the security environment around the region that is complex and becoming more severe than ever, and agreed that Japan and India would further improve interoperability in terms of exercises / trainings, operations between the JMSDF and Indian Navy, as well as continue defense cooperation and deepening of the Japan-India relationship.

The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
