The Indo-Pacific Deployment 2025 (IPD25) units participated in a multilateral exercise “Talisman Sabre 25” hosted by the U.S. Forces and the Australian Defense Force.
The Indo-Pacific Deployment 2025 (IPD25) units, JS OSUMI, JS ISE and JS SUZUNAMI participated in a multi-lateral exercise “Talisman Sabre 25” hosted by the U.S. Forces and the Australian Defence Force in the vicinity of Australia. “Talisman Sabre” is a multi-lateral exercise that has been held biennially since 2005. This year, the exercise was joined by 19 countries.
As part of the exercise, the unit, in cooperation with U.S. and Australian forces, demonstrated a series of actions related to maritime and amphibious operations to improve tactical capabilities and joint operation capabilities as well as to strengthen cooperation and interoperability with the participating countries such as the U.S. and Australia.
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
