HARUSAME conducted a Japan-EU (Spain) bilateral anti-piracy exercise.

On 7th July, JS HARUSAME, the 51st Deployment Surface Force for Counter Piracy Enforcement (DSPE) conducted a Japan-EU (Spain) bilateral anti-piracy exercise in the east of the Gulf of Arabia with the SPS NAVARRA.

Through the exercise, we strengthened cooperation with the EU Maritime Force. We will contribute to deterring piracies and ensuring the safe navigation of merchant vessels navigating in our operation area through exercises with partner nations’ navies.

The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
