HMS SPEY visited Sasebo and the JMSDF had a defense exchange.

On 9th June 2025, HMS SPEY visited Sasebo base, JMSDF and RADM EBATA Yasutaka, Commander Escort Flotilla 2 received a visit from LCDR Helen Taylor, Executive Officer, HMS SPEY. Also, crews under the Escort Flotilla 2 and SPEY played a football game together as a sport exchange, which could promote the friendship as well as mutual understanding of each other.

The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
