JS HAGURO conducted a Japan-Australia bilateral exercise (Nichi-Gou Trident 25) with HMAS SIDNEY, the Royal Australian Navy in the East China Sea.

Australia is a ‘Special Strategic Partner’ in the Indo-Pacific region, sharing not only universal values but also strategic security interests with us. The JMSDF will further promote its relationship between the JMSDF and the Royal Australian Navy to improve security environment in the Indo-Pacific region.

The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
