Self Defense Fleet hosted a Japan-U.S.-Australia trilateral IW conference.

During 24-28 March, Self Defense Fleet and other major Commands from the Self-Defense Force, Japan, U.S. Navy and Royal Australian Navy participated in Blue Spectrum 25-1, a trilateral Information Warfare (IW) Conference at Maritime Operation Center, JMSDF.

Blue Spectrum is designed to improve trilateral IW collaboration as well as the interoperability with U.S. Navy and Royal Australian Navy. In the conference, the participants shared the present situation and challenges of Information Warfare as well as exchanged opinions in order to enhance the interoperability.
Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force is swiftly strengthening information capabilities, including responses to integrated IW aiming at establishing “Information Warfare Command” (tentative) in 2026.

Responses to integrated IW are indispensable activities to fully ensure defense of Japan in the long run. The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
