Commander in Chief, the Self-Defense Fleet presented a Certificate of Appreciation to U.S. 7th Fleet Staffs.

Commander in Chief, Self-Defense Fleet, VADM OMACHI Katsushi, presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Rear Admiral Bauernschmidt, Deputy Commander of the U.S. SEVENTH Fleet and CAPT Patterson, Chief of Staff, U.S. SEVENTH Flee N5 staff, U.S. 7th Fleet. They played a pivotal role in fostering closer collaboration between the U.S. Navy and the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force with their extensive expertise, and strong sense of service.

Rear Admiral Bauernschmidt played a significant role in enhancing the bilateral collaboration between JMSDF and USN as well as the friendship between the fleets.
CAPT Patterson contributed to the enhancement of the bilateral presence of Japan and the United States in the Indo-Pacific region serving to preserve and further support for a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”.

The Self Defense Fleet will continue to work closely with the U.S. Navy, from the commander to the staff and unit levels, and act together to maintain readiness and immediately respond to any contingencies, contributing to the defense of Japan and peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region.
