P-1 and P-3C conducted a Japan-U.S.-New Zealand trilateral exercise.

On March 4th and 6th, JMSDF P-1 and P-3 conducted a Japan-U.S.- New Zealand trilateral exercise with USN P-8 and Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) P-8A in the vicinity of Japan.

JMSDF has conducted various operations with New Zealand Defense Force (NZDF) which is an important partner for Japan Self Defense Force sharing a common goal of maintaining and strengthening rules-based International order. Through the exercise, JMSDF improved the tactical capabilities and strengthened cooperation with the USN and the RNZAF.

The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
